Is it safe to use this roof cleaning method?
Absolutely! This method uses pressure, but it is low pressure, ensuring safety for your roof. Despite the gentle approach, it effectively removes moss and all growths, cleaning the roof and tiles to a nearly like-new condition.
It is one of the best, if not the best, methods for cleaning roofs because it strikes a balance between soft washing and pressure washing. Soft washing relies heavily on chemicals to clean the roof, which means any dirt loosened by the treatment is left to be washed away naturally by rain over time. On the other hand, pressure washing removes all dirt immediately but can cause damage to delicate tiles due to its high pressure. Our low-pressure method provides the perfect middle ground: it thoroughly cleans the roof without relying solely on chemicals or risking damage to the tiles.
What about the tiles? Could they crack?
Definitely not from the cleaning process itself. When we clean roofs, we don’t walk on them, as that’s when tiles are most likely to crack. However, it can occasionally happen that some tiles fall during the cleaning. This is usually due to moss growing underneath or between the tiles. Moss is highly absorbent—1 kg of dry moss can hold up to 10 liters of water. In winter, water trapped in the moss can freeze and expand, loosening the tile. When the moss is removed, the tile may fall because the moss was holding it in place.
It’s important to note that regardless of the cleaning method used—low-pressure washing, soft washing, or pressure washing—tiles in this condition are likely to fall eventually. In soft washing, this typically happens later when the moss naturally detaches and the tile is no longer supported by it.
